I decided to chronicle the 7 because I had a couple of hours to kill. I wasn't in the mood to go back to my grandfather's apartment just yet. I also didn't feel like wasting money on a cab from Simpson St. or Hunts Point Ave. to his place since the BX5 stops running a little after midnight which makes no sense to me. I'll save that rant for the blog.
My main chronicle goal of the late night/early morning was the E G.O. that was in effect.I had already done it but still had almost 2 hours until the first BX5 of the morning. So I decided I'll do the 7.
The ridership on the 7 even in the middle of the night never ceases to amaze me. The 7 is one of the few lines I feel everyone can feel safe on regardless of what area it goes through. I can never recall feeling alone on the 7 at anytime.
As far as the ride is concerned, everything was ok until we got to Willets Point/Shea Stadium where we were held for 3 minutes. The train also crawled between Willets Point/Shea Stadium & Flushing/Main St. I'm sorry but at 4AM, it should never take 10 minutes to travel between those two stops.
